I should have…

While I sometimes wonder if I should have taken more risks, I am ultimately grateful for the lessons I've learned. The key takeaway is that it's essential to express our feelings when they arise, as waiting only makes it more difficult.

Experiencing love at first sight is truly magical, even in today's complex world. Meeting her eased many of my worries, leaving just a few lingering thoughts as a reminder of how far I've come. I was no longer the person I once thought I was, and I certainly wasn't a loser.

When I first looked into her eyes, I was filled with poetic inspiration. Playing pool together felt like we were orchestrating the cosmos as if we were celestial beings watching over everything. Catching a glimpse of her mesmerizing blue eyes, I experienced a jolt of self-recognition, seeing a reflection of my past self. While this could have been seen as a warning sign, I chose to embrace the moment and accept the vulnerability that comes with love. Bidding farewell to hopeless romanticism, I prepared myself to experience the full range of emotions in this heartfelt journey.

While giving her a ride home, I asked her last name out of curiosity, wondering if I might know her family since I hadn't been in my hometown since 1998. When she said Apstein, it ignited a familiar spark in me. It also brought to light the challenges I had faced throughout my life, including 30 years of isolation.

However, two years before meeting her, in a moment of self-reflection and hope for the future, I held an iron meteorite in my hands. I promised myself that if I ever got married, I would fashion it into a pair of wedding bands, inspired by the beautiful pattern of iron crystals that took billions of years to form.

Hearing her last name stirred something deep within me, and I couldn't help but feel as though I had just met my future spouse, and my search for love was over. Although it was a poignant reminder of my past struggles, it also marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with hope and the potential for profound connection.

Reflecting on those two years, I sometimes wish I had shared my feelings sooner. Speaking up earlier might have prevented misunderstandings from taking root. However, after three weeks of contemplation, I decided to share my thoughts with others, hoping for their support and guidance.

In a moment of vulnerability, I confided in a stranger about my feelings, saying, "I believe I just met my wife and she's here." In hindsight, I wish I had shared those emotions directly with her, exclaiming, "I'm done, the search is done!" while confidently acknowledging our connection to everyone around us. I believed that we could overcome the challenges of our pasts together, as neither of us was without flaws.

She may have been hesitant to face her past, but it's understandable given the transformative impact life experiences can have on us. Embracing this truth only adds to the depth and wisdom we bring to our future relationships, painting a promising picture for what lies ahead.

When the news of my feelings eventually reached her, she confronted me, asking if I had told people she was my partner. Though that wasn't exactly how I had expressed it, I agreed, ready to embrace the truth. However, I soon realized that others had painted a less-than-ideal picture of me for her, influenced by their own perspectives and experiences. It was disheartening to see myself portrayed as the antagonist.

Nevertheless, sharing that heartfelt sentiment about her being "the one" was liberating. I said it to face the truth and overcome any self-imposed limitations. Though it seemed like a curse at first, speaking my truth allowed me to grow and learn. Each new beginning comes with the hope of finding lasting happiness, even if challenges arise along the way. By staying true to ourselves, we can face these obstacles with resilience.

Although I'd love to write more, my work responsibilities beckon for now. In the meantime, I'll hold on to the hope that brighter days lie ahead, and that this journey will lead me to where I'm meant to be.

How do you define that it is love at first sight that is "magical"?

I think that our thoughts are material. They materialize over time

Maybe you will looking for me all this time and that's why you were unhappy before?)

Look at me attentively. Could you fall in love with me at first sight?

Every person should believe in the best, because our thoughts are material. I like that you don’t lose faith that everything will be fine)
