Can women accept that I help refugees?

So recently I ended a relationship with a woman from Ukraine...and I wonder if her behaviour is what I should expect from others.

At the outset of the Ukrainian invasion, I looked to help where I could. Through my businesses and contacts, I was able to send foods and other goods to help refugees and those escaping the bombs and missiles. As I own a number of properties, I also decided to provide three apartments to people needing to leave Ukraine, also providing work and support while they built new lives. So far, I'm hosting 4 women and have hosted 8 in total.

Anyway, while helping these women, I continued my search for a partner and met Lyudmila "Milly". From our first conversations, I explained that I was helping women from Ukraine in England and she accepted this, but had many questions. All of which I answered.

We met in Poland and I arranged a web call with the girls here and we seemed to have addressed her concerns. It was then that we decided that we would try to live together in England.

Almost from the first day, we had issues. Milly wanted to know why I continued to help these women. Why they had my number and could call on me. Two of the women worked in one of my restaurants and whenever I visited this business, she wanted to come with me...and I never refused.

After about a week, Milly asked me if I could find other jobs for the two women working for me...and I explained that due to their limited English, opportunities were limited, but I would speak with friends with other businesses. Then, after an argument, she told me that I had to throw the women out of the apartments and have nothing to do with them. I gave no belief that anything was happening with these women and allowed Milly to travel with me and speak with the women I help at any time.

I explained I couldn't remove the accommodation or work from these women and Milly became aggressive and violent. I had to call the police and had Milly removed from my house. I provided her with a ticket to return to Poland and told her not to contact me again.

After speaking with the girls I host, I was told that they were not shocked and I should expect this from other women. Now I wonder, do I need to look for relationships elsewhere, while I continue to host and help people who need it?

Milly was a really nice woman in many ways, beautiful, funny and usually happy, but I cannot remove the help these other women need. I wonder, am I wrong?

It sounds like you acted with kindness and integrity, helping people in need without expecting anything in return. Milly’s reaction seems more about her own insecurities than any wrongdoing on your part. Supporting refugees is a compassionate choice, and any partner who truly respects you should understand and appreciate that, rather than demand you give it up. You are not wrong—your heart and values are admirable, and the right person will see that.

It seems that you did not encounter a “typical female reaction”, but a specific person who could not cope with her own fears and jealousies. What you are doing for refugees is truly valuable and worthy of respect; a normal partner would not demand that you give up good deeds that save someone’s life and give them a chance to start over. Her reaction was not about your actions, but about her inner insecurity and distrust. You should, of course, look for a relationship - just with a person who is able to respect your principles and see the good in you, and not fight it. There are many women who will appreciate your generosity and will not see your kindness as a threat. You are not wrong to continue to help those in need - it is part of your essence, and the right partner will not be against it, but next to it.

You are doing a great job that not everyone can do. Thank you very much. This woman was just jealous and afraid that you would go to another person. She must have already had something similar in her life. And she did not understand that you are doing great work for people who need it. I know what it is like to not have support in the work that you want to share with someone and ask for help. And you just need to find a person who will volunteer with you and help those who need it. Then you will see the sincerity of that person )

You are doing an incredible job helping those in need, and that deserves respect 🌟🤝 Should we look for someone who will understand our true heart, and not just be jealous? ❤️ Don't you think that true love is accepting each other completely, along with values and kindness? 😉

Helping others is an indicator of great character, which not everyone will understand 💪🕊️ Maybe it's worth looking for a person for whom your kindness will be a dignity, not an object of jealousy? ❤️‍🔥 Are you ready to wait for someone who truly appreciates your greatness to come along? ✨
