By the way, the first Fort Lauderdale Boat Show was organized in 1959 with the only purpose of unloading excess boat inventory. Today’s show entices over 100,000 people to see more than 1,000 boats displayed on site representing 50 countries. The show is one of the most influential yachting events in the world, not just in North America.&nbsp;

The city radiates a more sophisticated lifestyle, mainly characterized by its beachfront location. It’s luxurious, a mix of coffee shops with first-class restaurants, high-end art galleries, and designer boutiques.&nbsp;

Of course, everybody shows up to check out an incredible number of spectacular yacht exteriors and interiors. From millionaire's super-yachts with indoor pools to sailing yachts, catamarans, outstanding fishing boats, and speedboats. The show allows you to follow the progress with a sense of fascination of boating for anyone going or dreaming of going into the sea.&nbsp;

The first location we visited, Pier 66 Marina, had undergone a complete renovation, as it said. You’ll meet a fantastic display of yachts and have a sea trial there — a test run of a vessel you're thinking of purchasing. You should be qualified, however, to participate in this standard procedure, observing how your dream boat behaves on the water. Also, check on some of the best meals at Pelican Landing restaurant and several bars there.&nbsp;

Next, you'll stumble upon the Hall of Fame Marina show location with its other quality dining option and a place for business meetups. Just in case you're in the marine business.&nbsp;

If you go with kids, they'll probably stick to the Blue Wild area featuring scuba and freediving, and you might find a specialty at the sizeable marine art exhibition. Apart from the boats, you can find a vast assortment of accompanying goods, like equipment, clothing, marine electronics, etc. Also, you’ll find an exotic car mini-show displaying the finest vehicles from the world's most recognized automakers.&nbsp;

All show’s seven locations are linked by a convenient land and water transportation network. You can get there by a free riverboat or purchase a $10 pass for the all-day water taxi. You’ll have access to all 7 locations:

Fort Lauderdale is a great coastal destination with perfect weather all year round. If you like water sports, the show offers virtually anything from fishing gear to jet skiing equipment, paddle boarding, kayaking, and kite surfing.

If you’re more into wine and women, you can concurrently visit Miami South Beach Wine and Food Festival, which is in full bloom and buzzing with new and old culinary talents. If you don't like wine, there’s a superabundance of various distilleries and breweries, like Gulf Stream Brewery. They are more like a boutique size, each having its unique blend and taste and serving mild October vibes wholly.

Fort Lauderdale’s extensive waterways are lined up with expensive mansions, beautiful harbors, and preserved lagunas, all worth exploring onboard. You don’t have to buy a yacht or acquire a boat license to do that; just rent a boat or buy a VIP tour with a personal guide.

Fort Lauderdale has it all and even more for a keen skipper, but even if you're not, all possible exhibits on the water are at your service. Paying as low as $39 (or $300 VIP), you'll explore the astonishing displays and shop for the most up-to-date gears or even fine arts.

You'll get 20 miles of golden sand beaches on your palm, making it probably the most illuminating seaside getaway this year. Generally, the Sunshine State is loaded with recreational opportunities under the sun for any budget, including golf courses and Disney World in September.

It happened 5 or 6 Vegas trips back and remained the high point for me. A friend of mine (let’s call him John), a 40 something, is a suit in the group corporation. So, he went to a 5-day convention in Las Vegas. Two of our buddies and I decided to surprise him and come to visit him there…

We only called John when we got to a taxi at the Vegas airport. He was really mind-blowed, yet he said that it’s actually great we’re here, ‘cause he didn’t have a company to have fun with after the exhibition.

While John was lost at his expo in the daytime, we were wandering around MGM - strips, gambling, drinking, well, you know. Some events and timelines got sketchy as the ‘drink’ started to take its toll at this stage. We met some girls, had a great time with them, drinking and talking. Exchanged numbers, agreed to meet up the next day, I can’t really remember.

We ended up extending our 3-day stay to a week and went to play Baccarat to NYNY. I’m not such a good player and just wanted to have fun there. Apparently, I didn’t want to lose money and started with as little as $100. Two guys at our table were playing and winning time after time. I thought, WTF, and just started to make the same bets as they did. Guess what - I won $3000! I even won a tie bet with a 1:8 payout - you know, that stupid bet with zero chance to win! Pure damn luck!

I was heady with success when John finally joined us, and we continued our adventure altogether! We’re heading to someplace I don’t remember and met a covey of ladies from Minni something. They went to a Divorce party and invited us to join as we looked pretty bold and funny.&nbsp;

They said, ‘Honey, you’ve got a cute accent! Where are you from?’

My friends and I were not really sure about that party, and we decided to have a few more drinks in Bellagio to celebrate my gain instead. Then we headed through the Petrossian Bar and met that Divorce party at the Lobby. We gave up and had a few drinks with the charming girls.

One of the ladies dropped a hint that she never saw a water show from the room. I generously offered her to view this show from my room as I stayed in Bellagio. And we saw an 11.30 pm and a midnight show from different angles of view I have to add.

The next day my friends gently reminded me that we agreed to have dinner with the girls we had a few drinks a day ago. Ok, let’s do it. The ladies were really adorable, so why not. When we met and took a table in Mega, I noticed someone new - she wasn’t there when we first met.

That lady was a flight attendant, and she just got back from an international layover. We ended up talking to each other all the time, and finally, I asked her out. She said yes, and we spent the rest of the time in Vegas together.

We started dating and spent a lot of time together. And we traveled around the world using her airline privileges. I’ve been to 108 countries for now and counting!

That was all cool - went to Vegas, won a ton, met an adorable lady! And I say ‘No!’ to that ‘What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ motto!

The journey to these Greek islands was not my first and, hopefully, not the last, as it was long enough to fall in love with that place. Anyways, not going to amuse anyone with a long story and think it should be delivered shortly. So, here you go.&nbsp;

Last year, an old friend of mine invited me to Greece with his friends, whom I didn't know, except for one guy I learned from my salesman's days. That was my friend's 50th birthday — no more, no less — and he got to the point that he wanted to go across the pond to celebrate half of his 100 (no kidding aside). I assume Greece was his wife's idea, but I never asked.&nbsp;

We first flew to Athens for two nights, and there we agreed to begin from Mykonos. Everything was set, starting from a country guide to reservations and the transition between islands. A local boutique travel firm designed the itinerary, but it felt a little chaotic initially.&nbsp;

I thought local guys did not like us Americans but soon realized — that was just how they were, a little sleepy. And they probably thought we were a little noisy, huh? This was a pretty inexpensive trip for all, though.

The first night at Mykonos, we enjoyed each other's company in Opia, a delicate dining area on top of the hill above the Chora. It'll award you a 180 degrees view around the town, including ports and far-stretched lagune. I believe it's the best night view you can get there in Summer.

Most restaurants offer Raki, a traditional homemade liquor made of grapes, very strong booze, really kicking you out of your ketosis, so be careful. The food was excellent, something in between a fusion and Mediterranean cuisine. Then we took off for the bar closer to our hotel, Palladium. I remember dancing with German frau, but I don’t remember how I ended up in bed alone — I was completely blank.&nbsp;

The hotel was great, within a 15-minute walk to the Psarou beach. The gorgeous sea view suit delivered a breathtaking view, as promised. The massive pool was saturated with young women — definitely too luxurious to be a regular family spot, as I thought before. I wish I had more time alone, as the entire location was auspicious. I highly recommend it.

The next day we ordered a walking tour around the town. We stopped by Gioras, the oldest bakery on the island, and had a fabulous feta pie there. Then we had drinks by the Windmills, a lovely spot to meet Sunset. I had white wine, which I would recommend; if I remembered its type, was it Athiri?

There it is, Naxos. Number two on the route — went there by ferry. Upon arrival, we walked to The Temple of Apollo Ruins and Mitropolis Museum; both ruins seed a feeling of eternity inside you. Then we went to eat and ended up in the Archeological Museum.

We stayed at the Villa Marandi hotel, which served us the most authentic meals of the trip.

In general, Naxos is a great and more “laid back" resort, with a significant cultural benefit for each interested in the history of humankind.&nbsp;

We visited Saint Anna Winery, where we learned about the different local varieties, not a large assortment. However, it's been a gratifying experience for me personally anyways. Besides, the landscape views downhill were astonishing.

Santorini was third. We took a ferry there, too. Such a wild place crowded with tourists, but I knew it would be.

If you can't breathe well during the noon heat, take a private tour to Fira and then up north, to Oia, early in the morning. Private tours are pleasantly off track; you can stop any time by any unknown, but worth seeing spots on the route.

We started in the town of Fira, with its well-known Museum of Prehistoric, then went through the Cathedral of Saint John Baptist to the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord. Next, we stopped by Skaros Rock, an ancient castle ruins on an outcrop, but did have time for the way up — hiking was not on the schedule.

Then we finally made it to the Diamond Rock Venue; the views of the sea and a bunch of other, smaller islands were incredible. Getting closer to the Kokkino-Vouno Volcano, we were arguing about whether to take a boat there and see hot springs for about forty euros but decided to skip. The volcano is active, however.

We made a stopover in Perivolas, where I saw the most beautiful Greek women of all ages for the trip. Some were just stunning, with olive eyes, dark skin, and impulsive attitudes.

We spent the whole night at Oia. It was something I didn't want to recall. There was some tranquil place where we were going to celebrate my friend Harry's birthday, but luckily, I met a decent chick there. My destination changed drastically, but he didn't mind.

Greece is fantastic, with great people, evident historical heritage, terrific nature, authentic food, and drinks. I’d highly recommend making dinner reservations in Santorini, as it is crowded with travelers all year round.

I’d always wanted to travel, so when I got the opportunity to work on a project in Europe, I jumped at the chance. I packed my bags and said goodbye. Not knowing when I would be back.

I arrived in Italy and started my work right away. I met a lot of new people but one person in particular caught my eye. I met her at a bistro. She was a server. Her name was Sophia, and she was drop-dead gorgeous.&nbsp;

We didn't have to. I wasn't too bad looking back then. So I could tell she was interested in me by the way she would smile and stare every time I came in. Of course, I wanted nothing more than to take her out and paint the town red.

But as fate would have it, I was already married with a daughter and one on the way at the time.

So we just flirted back and forth. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife. I draw her pretty flowers on the napkin and she’d drop me a word or two on the napkin the next time I came in. If I’d stayed in the country much longer I would have taken her out and back to my little flat.&nbsp;

After a few months, my wife called and said she needed me back home, my daughter wasn't well. So, of course, like any good father, I packed up and headed home without ever saying goodbye to Sophia.

I often find myself thinking of that sweet apricot aroma in the diner and that fire in her eyes.

Every day I wish I would have made the move.&nbsp;

As it turns out, my wife was having an affair of her own with the neighbor across the street. Old Bony Bob. His wife found out before I did, and that lady went berserk and smashed out my wife's car windows.&nbsp;

When I arrived back home I found my daughter in great health. Not a thing wrong with her. She gave me divorce papers and took off with Bony Bob and my daughter. Some place up north. Never heard from her again.&nbsp;

Word to the wise. Do what makes you happy today. That’s how I live, and I love every second.&nbsp;

And as I entered my early forties, I yearned for adventure and a chance to explore the world. Finally, I had enough money and time to travel. I have always wanted to visit Europe's historic cities and charming villages, and it is time to realize this dream.

My journey began in Paris, the City of Lights, and I was immediately swept away by its enchanting beauty. I strolled along the banks of the Seine River, admiring the graceful bridges that spanned its waters and gazing up at the iconic Eiffel Tower, which loomed majestically in the distance. As I wandered through the city's winding streets and grand boulevards, I indulged in the rich cuisine and decadent pastries that France is famous for, savoring every bite and reveling in the country's culinary delights. And, of course, croissants.

From Paris, I traveled to the rolling hills of Tuscany, where the warm embrace of the Italian countryside greeted me. I spent hours wandering through the sun-drenched vineyards and olive groves, sampling some of the best wines and cheeses the world has to offer, and soaking up the stunning beauty of the landscape. The region's vibrant colors, fragrant scents, and energy left me feeling invigorated and inspired.

Next, I made my way to the historic city of Prague, where I was transported back in time by its stunning Gothic architecture and rich cultural heritage. I climbed to the top of the Old Town Hall Tower, taking in breathtaking views of the city below, and explored the narrow, winding streets and hidden courtyards. I also visited the famous Charles Bridge, where I listened to local musicians and watched street performers captivate the crowds with their incredible talents and charisma.

As I continued my journey through Europe, I was struck by each destination's impressive diversity and unique charm. I explored Berlin's bustling streets and vibrant art scene, immersing myself in its rich cultural heritage and soaking up its dynamic energy. In Amsterdam, I marveled at the picturesque canals and colorful tulip gardens, taking long walks along the water's edge and basking in the sun's gentle warmth. Of course, I tried being a typical tourist, so I tried some good stuff in muffins and candies. It was… I can't even describe how it was. Just relaxing. And everything is indeed tasting much better after a doob.&nbsp;

But the most meaningful part of my journey was my visit to the birthplace of my ancestors in Ireland. Here, I discovered my family's rich history and experienced the warm hospitality of the Irish people, who welcomed me with open arms and shared their culture and traditions. Walking through the verdant fields and rolling hills of the countryside, I felt a deep connection to my roots and a profound appreciation for the journey that had brought me here.

Throughout my travels, I met fascinating people worldwide, each with their own stories and adventures to share. I learned new languages, tasted exotic foods, and tried new activities, pushing my limits and embracing new experiences enthusiastically and joyfully.

As my trip ended, I realized this journey had been more than just a vacation. It had been a life-changing experience that broadened my horizons, challenged my assumptions, and filled me with a sense of wonder and gratitude for the world around us. Ultimately, my incredible trip to Europe gave me memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life and taught me the value of taking risks, embracing new experiences, and appreciating the beauty of our diverse and fascinating world.

This trip changed my perception of my ancestors and the world around me. How much is immeasurable… I still have so much to do. But the first step is already there! What will be next?

The other person who was going had to stay home, for his Mother had gotten ill. So, it was up to me.&nbsp; I said yes, though my German sucked big time. Off I went.....and what a great year it turned out to be. One of the main differences is the German women compared to American women. While there, I had many women just look me over. Like a piece of meat you might say. I am by no means a stud, but I enjoyed them checking me out. "Did I pass your inspection, miss?" "Oh! You're an American?!" Yeah , the good ole days.

The job was tough, and the future looked bleak, but we needed a break, a real escape from the grind.

So, one night, we decided to hit up the local sports bar, and we started drowning our sorrows in beer. That's when the story of my neighbor Jim came up in my head, and he had just returned from Italy. He was raving about the women, the wine, and the sheer beauty of the place. And that's when it hit us — why not book a spontaneous trip to Italy?

We didn't waste any time; we got on the airline, and before we knew it, we were flying to Rome. As soon as we landed, it hit us like a ton of bricks — the heat was intense, but we didn't care. We were in Italy, and everything was going to be alright. Rome was everything we imagined it would be and more. The ancient ruins, the stunning architecture, and the sense of history everywhere we looked were awe-inspiring.

The Colosseum was a sight to behold. We walked through the ancient arena, and I could almost hear the roars of the crowd and the clanging of swords. It was surreal like we were transported back in time. The next day, we visited the Vatican and saw the Sistine Chapel up close. The intricate details and vibrant colors of the frescoes were breathtaking.

But the real highlight of our trip was meeting Chiara, a gorgeous Italian girl who offered to be our tour guide. She was kind enough to offer her help with excursions, as we were noobs in the Italian language. And, of course, we were happy to agree: a beautiful lady would follow us for all our trips. She showed us around Florence, where we saw stunning Renaissance art and architecture, and visited the Uffizi Gallery, which had an incredible collection of paintings and sculptures.

In Venice, we took a magical gondola ride through the winding canals, and the colorful buildings and bridges were like something out of a storybook. We visited St. Mark's Basilica, which was breathtakingly beautiful. The intricate mosaics and architecture were unlike anything I had ever seen before.

Finally, we ended our trip in Positano on the Amalfi Coast. The views of the Mediterranean Sea and the colorful houses perched on the cliffs were stunning. We spent our days lounging on the beach and enjoying delicious Italian food and wine.

Italy left a lasting impression on us, and we can't wait to go back and explore more of this amazing place. It was an epic adventure, and we created memories that would last a lifetime. The history, culture, and beauty of the country were awe-inspiring, and it made us appreciate life even more. We were a bunch of guys from the States, but in Italy, we felt like we belonged. The trip was the perfect escape from our everyday lives, and it showed us that sometimes, the best things in life are completely unexpected.

We had so much fun experiencing the Italian lifestyle, and the food was unforgettable. We tried all sorts of pizza, pasta, and gelato, and it was all delicious. The Italian wine was also breathtaking, and we couldn't get enough of it. We even learned some Italian phrases, like “ciao” and “grazie”, and tried to use them as much as possible.

Our trip wasn't just about sightseeing and trying new foods, though. We also met some amazing people. The locals were friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed chatting with them and learning about their culture. We even made some new friends, we still keep in touch with today.

Overall, our trip to Italy was an unforgettable adventure that we will always cherish. It was a time when we were carefree, adventurous, and open to new experiences. We were able to escape our everyday routine and immerse ourselves in a new culture, and it was truly life-changing. I hope I will be able to create even more amazing memories in this beautiful country.

I grew up in Florida and we had no mountains. We had some of the best beaches in the United States.&nbsp;

After high school I joined the United States Navy and this was full of new things and I got to travel to New places around the world.&nbsp;

After I got out of the Navy I became a over the road truck driver and I have been to all 48 States in the United States. The only state I have not been to yet is Alaska. When I was in the Navy I got to go to Hawaii.&nbsp;

Even in the different states that you go to you can see a difference in the culture and how there are differences between the different parts of the United States.&nbsp;

Even going to different countries around the world you see different ways people live and the difference in cultures.&nbsp;

I enjoy studying history and being able to see different places that you learn the history about is very interesting.&nbsp;

Some of the places that you travel to are not always what you think they are and how people act towards people who are not from the place thet they live are unreal.

Just because you do not talk like they do, they become rude towards you. This is not right because I was raised as a child that you treat others as you want to be treated.&nbsp;

I remember being in New York and because they heard my southern accent they thought they could be rude. Well I soon learned that not all people can be nice to each other and I did not change who I was because of this.&nbsp;

Traveling is a great way to see places and difference in cultures and how others react to difference in people.&nbsp;

One day I hope to find my soul mate and travel together.&nbsp;

A few years ago, me and two freinds took a vacation trip to Kiev. During a lunch in a small Cafe, we came in contact with two beautiful ukrainian girls. Both of them were about about 26/27 years old.

.Both were very cute, redhead and a brunette. We tried to have conversation with them. We started talking with both of them but only one of them spoke english, so the redhead had to translate. We asked about were the good nightclubs were, and they agreed to meet us later and show us the nightlife of Kiev. We agreed to meet outside our hotel in the evening. The girls came to our hotel and we took a taxi to one of the nightclubs. There we had drinks together, we danced and had a great time together. While the guys were getting a bit drunk, I tried talking a little bit with the girls. I tried to say: "Privjet". Both of them smiled back at me. I bet they didn't think I knew any ukrainian words, or I might also said it wrong :) Then I tried asking for their name. I pointed at me and said my name. Then I pointed at them and the girl who knew no english at all actually understood the signal and said her name was Karina. The redhead said her name was Katya. As we communicated a little bit, where Katya had to translate, Karina took my hand and brought me along to the bar. There she ordered a drink and wanted me to have one also. While we stood there I looked at Karina and pointed at Katya thinking she also wanted a drink, but Karina said something in ukrainian to her and she sat down. We danced a little. As we were about to leave the club,I saw Katya by herself. I think she felt left out alone, since the guys were always dancing and drinking, while Karina dragged me around the dance floor.I felt bad for her, but as I were about to ask her, Karina took my hand and guided us to a taxi. In the taxi, we exchanged telephone numbers. Karina was also a little drunk, so she sat on my lap the whole time, and had her hand in my pants. When we got back to the hotel we were about to say good night to the girls. the guys and i thanked them for a lovely night and we hugged. I was about to give Katya a good night kiss on the cheek, then Karina interrupted and gave me a long french kiss. Katya was not happy with karina and yelled at her. The girls went home and we went to bed in our hotel room. After the breakfast we alked about the two lovely girls we had met and how nice they were. We took our flight back to Bratislava, and from there back to our own country. Coming back we thought that was that, and we now wanted to enjoy the rest of the summer. After a few days a text message appeared on my phone. It was from Karina. We started sending eachother messages and agreed that in the lst month of summer, I would go back to Ukraine to meet her. She also mentioned that Katya would be joining us, because she needed to translate. I booked a flight directly to Kiev, and a few days later I was on the plane.

When I landed in Kiev, both girls were there to meet me. This time I got first an hug and a kiss from Katya first and then from Karina. Katya seemed very excited to see me and told me that a taxi were waiting for us outside the airport. It looked like Katya had freshened her up more and looked now beautiful in her summer dress.

We drove to my hotel and I had to check in to get my room. They showed me around the big city centre, with lots of shops, cafe's and restaurants.I changed my clothes and we then walked out to the nearest mall. We went to a cafe, had some coffee, talked for a while, and then we went into the mall, looking at the shops and what they had to offer. Inside a shoe store Karina found some beautiful summer shoes and wanted to buy them. She said something to Katya and Katya then told me that maybe I wanted to buy her the shoes? She said it with a not so happy face, with out me noticing. I said sure and bought them for her. After a while we got to the clothing store. You must wonder why a 70+ year old man is looking for love in Slavic Woman. I was in the US Army for 22 years and traveled all over the world. I met a Soviet translator who spoke excellent English and we had a very long conversation.
